the Rough Collie

We purchased our first Rough Collie in the late 1960's. She was the famous, FIN CH Vesimiehen Elle who later on became our broodbitch.
"Elle" also gave us the idea for our prefix. The line still goes back to Elle in some of our dogs.

Our first litter was born in 1972, and from it we immediately got two Finnish Champions.
We have bred several Champions and also dogs who have done well also in other trials.
Our breeding classes have been rewarded countless times from the early beginning to this day.
A lot of our stock has also been sold to other kennels.

Our breeding work hasn't never reached big measures and because of it we have tried to keep our stock mostly in Finland.
Still, over the years some Black Elles Collies have been eported to Denmark, Sweden, Russia and Estonia.
The newest country where you are able to find a Black Elles Collie is Spain where a sable dog BE Impress Me left in July 2007.

We have received the Finnish Kennel Club's so called Vuolasvirta-plaque in 1980 for successfull breeding as
the first Rough Collie Breeder ever in Finland.

Our breeding combinations have always been carefully selected and the pedigrees have been of top quality.
We also have imported Collies to complete our team.
CH Lynway Shabby Tiger, FIN CH Corydon Knight of Glory,
Corydon Rosie O`Grady, FIN CH of Taipe Nina, MULTI CH Sunsweet Ipanema Girl, CH Corydon Demon Elles
and the famous FIN&EST&DK CH KBHV'89 WW'89 Corydon Be Brave are definitely
familiar names to many Collie enthusiasts.

Since 1984 we have been closely co-operatig with the world famous Corydon kennel.
Based on this partnership the ACP club has also been founded in 1996.

Anja Alvasto has written together with Suvi Hirvonen (kennel Scottail)
the first Finnish book of Collies in 1998.

the Smooth Collie

Our first Smooth arrived to us nearly accidentally.
She was INT&FIN CH LVV'98 Vesimiehen Neiti-Aika. "Taika" turned out to be a true gift to us who were just beginning with this breed.
Taika became the brood bitch of our breeding work with Smooths. She also gave the name "Magic" (the name "Taika" means "Magic" in English)
for all the Black Elles Smooths.

The first smooth Black Elles litter was born in 1998 and the latest in 2006.
We aim to breed to the standard - dogs who have nice family dog temperaments, but who also have the potential
for many kinds of hobbies.
The combinations are also carefully selected - we search for something new but also try to maintain
the old lines that are special to us.
Perhaps this way we are able to create diffenrent kinds of possibilities for the friends of Smooth Collies.

the Pomeranian

Purchasing a Pomeranian had been our dream for years. At last in Christmas 2002 our dream came
true when little Sammy arrived. We all fell in love with Sammy because he was so charming in every possible way.
We haven't regretted the breed selection for a single day.

In autumn 2005 another lovely pomeranian called Zorro joined the pack.
His wonderful character has collected him a great deal of fans.

We aren't planning to start breeding work with this breed.
Sammy and Zorro have been purchased as family members and companions to showrings.
